my favorite things

picots...

...and macarons...

...especially picots.

for every color of yarn, there is a macaron to match...

...i have no complaints.

who wins this debate of favorite thing?
i hesitate to declare.

what do you think, picot? or macaron?

what's your favorite thing?

i hope your weekend is filled with all your favorite things! xo

rain rain go away

daffodils and muscari

Do not be angry with the rain; it simply does not know how to fall upwards.
~Vladimir Nabokov

We had a torrential downpour last night...I put running on hold and ate chocolate cake instead.
It seemed the right thing to do at the time.

Wouldn't you've done the same thing?! :)

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter,

and sharing of pleasures.

yestertoday

What to do on a rainy spring day in PDX?

Go in search of comfort food...a PBJ here fit the bill!

A new sock joined us.

After dining suffiiciently we headed home...during a sunbreak
(that followed the sleet that followed the rain that followed the gray that is PDX in spring)!

We're waiting with great anticipation for the next sunbreak...and you?
What are you waiting for this weekend?!

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend! xo

opposites attract

We are sun and moon, dear friend;

we are sea and land.

It is not our purpose to become each other;

it is to recognize each other,

to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is:

each the other's opposite and complement.

socks in the city

A much needed blog-terior remodel took place this weekend...
...what do you think?

Our home still has the same white walls, but the blog I revamp every few years or so...
...it was a long overdue refreshment, to be sure!

My Regan socks had their glamour shots taken while we were out and about in the big city!

I was a busy girl this past weekend, to be sure.

I hope you all had a grand weekend...
...did you remember to spring forward??

I have to admit, this fall/winter girl is looking forward to some longer days!
There's too much to do and not enough daylight to get it all done!

If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams,
and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined,
one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.

crocus

First a howling blizzard woke us,
Then the rain came down to soak us,
And now before the eye can focus —
Crocus.

revealed

The big reveal...not so big really...
I had a hankering for working up another pair of Holidazed socks.

You know me...I can't resist an easily memorizable pattern.
I haven't knit this pattern in quite awhile,
and thought it would be a nice break from the 'usual suspects' of patterns seen in these parts!

The yarn?

It's the January offering from the RSC...Portland Plaid.

On my to do list this weekend is a seminar on landscape photography, an evening with friends,
and brunch with sisters and a friend...pretty social for this homebody!

And you? Any fun plans you'd care to reveal??

I hope you have a great weekend!
xo

and abates misery,
by doubling our joys,
and dividing our grief.
