Catching up...kind of

Ahhh...finally some progress on Leafling.

I finally got this book and am inspired to return to spinning! "a fine fleece" is bee-u-tiful! I've been a fan of Lisa Lloyd's designs for a long time, and have greatly enjoyed her contributions to Wild Fibers magazine. I'm delighted she has shared her vision and aesthetic with us in this book...I don't know which design to knit first...I hope I don't wear out the pages before I get a chance to actually knit anything!

Have a great day! I'm off to LA this afternoon...I'm hoping for some good knitting time while in flight and in the evening tonight. Wish me luck!!

Pink Redux

Malabrigo Lace in "Fucsia"

I'm still behind. Please, don't ask why I bought more yarn! :) I'm thinking about knitting one of Anne's "Little Nothing" scarves that she has posted recently.

And I'm going out of town at the end of the week for a work-related conference. In LA. The attire at the Gala event on Friday night is "Hollywood Glamour"...oy.

Jill L...I can't wait to see your McGregor's Garden socks in progress!!

Behind

I'm woefully behind. This is all I've accomplished on the sweet Leafling socks this week. Boo.

Have a great Saturday!

A whole new meaning

to the term "block letters"

I saw this over here. These are real buildings that happen to be in the shape of letters when observed from on high using Google Maps! Too cool! Check it out here.

On the knitting front...Leafling #2 is off to an auspicious start.

And about AI...what the heck was that all about? Jason, yes. Brooke, yes.
Carly? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

April Ice

We had a full weekend. We had dinner at my parents' home Saturday with my family, old friends, and new!

Alot of knitting was accomplished.

The weekend also brought some freezing temperatures and precipitation. Leading to the little frozen nugget nestled in the new leaves of the witch hazel tree. Hopefully, winter is now over and we can move forward into spring!! For real this time!!

Down the rabbit hole...

in McGregor's Garden!

The minute I saw this sock kit I knew I had to have it. We had bunnies, you see. Nine of them. Angora bunnies. I loved to watch them eat their carrot treats!! And broccoli. And apple wedges. They were the most amazing little creatures and I miss them terribly. When I read how Kim came up with the colorway it was a done deal. I marked my calendar for the release date.

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you have a great weekend!!

Green is for

Frogs in the garden!!

One Leafling sock completed

Serious envy for my friends at sock camp!

Green is also for "Go", as in I'm going to start a new sock

in Woobu! Glorious!!!

It was Mariah Carey night on AI. David A. led the pack, until David C. took the stage...he was belting something out as I was working on this post...and it was Pheeee-NOM-enal! Jason did his usual thing...and did it well. The boys totally ran over the girls singing MC...go figure. IrishgirlieKnits...I voted as your proxy!!!

Credits for the froggy foto go to Mr. NK!!!

Wednesday treats

Progress is sweet.

A new project...sweeter!

If you don't watch any other episode of AI, tune in to Idol Gives Back tonight.
Have your tissues nearby.
If it moves you, give somewhere.
To someone. Just Give. Please.
The repair of the world needs to begin at home. Now.
I can only repeat my sentiments after watching last year's episode...There, but for the Grace of G_d, go I.

Into the Green

This color is amazing. It so captures the subtle variations in the greenery found in my own backyard. I heart it. The pattern is Leafling, and is the current Rockin' Sock Club offering from BMFA. I heart it!!

Pink

The "shadow knows" shawl is back in the active queue...at least for today. I think we are about to go into another rainy spell...these might be the last of the outdoor photos for awhile. Sigh.

Ahh...the Moroccan Spice yarn! It's going to be used for a lace scarf that you can see here. The spices? Well, that cute little David Lieberman does have a Moroccan chickpea soup recipe that is easy and dee-lish!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Happy knitting!

5500 Kelvin

I heart Dolly Parton...no that isn't a random utterance...it's in response to last night's AI. The two Davids are going to be battling it out for 1 and 2 by the end of the program. Syesha went out on a limb with a song immortalized by Whitney, albeit written and originally sung by Dolly. She did ok. Simon's a poop. Michael Johns was hot (IGK, wouldn't you agree?) :) Carly should be holding her own after tonight. Simon's a poop.

At Sunset

Happy April 1st!! I hope you get the best of all the would-be tricksters out there!
