new journeys

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday!
I was a busy girl...

...I opened an Etsy shop.
It is stocked with the two desktop calendars you see here.
I'm not sure where this little adventure will take me.
I do know that failure is assured if I don't even try.
And that's what I've been up to.

I have thought about a few goals for the coming year.
Getting my blogging in order is one of them.
Hopefully you will see me again before next month.

Success is not a place at which one arrives,
but rather the spirit with which one
undertakes and continues the journey.

heart paths

Look at every path closely and deliberately, then ask ourselves this crucial question:
Does this path have a heart?
If it does, then the path is good.
If it doesn't, it is of no use.

arriving

We went for a little road trip this past weekend.
We explored two states and 5 counties.
I shot everything from street to moon by the time we headed home.

I took socks with me just in case there was an opportunity for a glamour shot!

Below is the view of Cape Horn in Washington State.

re-entry

And we're back!
The sheep and wool festival was a blast!
The weather was perfect for the show,
and exploring the neighborhoods and cafes around town.

I have over 2000 images to sort through!
Somebody's shutter finger is pooped-out!

I'll be back with some pics of the show and Baltimore as soon as I can
get myself all caught up!

I hope you have a great weekend!!

We did a little traveling this past weekend. I so love these wind turbines.
Those little black spots are cows.
Yep, those turbines are HUUUUGE!

I hope you all had a great weekend and that your week is off to a grand start!

Happy Tuesday!

socktober

It just wouldn't be Socktober without a new pair of socks on the needles.

'Leaf Pile' from Lisa Souza...too perfect a color for Socktober.

Can't you just see whirling and swirling leaves in these socks?

come back to me.

I had a good weekend, I hope you did, too!
No travel for me, except for around homebase.
If you went somewhere fun, I'd love to hear about it!

I cleaned house, and organized various cupboards and drawers.
I gardened (the local nursery had its annuals on sale!).
I test-painted new colors for the trim and front door of the house (too fun!!).
I knit.
I breakfasted with a dear friend.
I skyped.

I'm rested and ready for the week.
Happy Monday!

happy things

Just as the wave cannot exist for itself,
but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean,
so must I never live my life for itself,
but always in the experience which is going on around me.
~Albert Schweitzer

I was tagged by the lovely Carolyn to list 10 things that make me happy.

A tough task, but here goes:

1. being at the beach with Mr. NK

2. all things autumn

3. hot cocoa and whipped cream

4. running at sunrise

5. creating

6. detective fiction

7. sunday morning breakfast at the cafe with Mr. NK

8. getting up early in the morning, sitting alone with my coffee and knitting

9. having a curled up kitty sleeping on me

10. northern exposure re-runs

If you're reading this...consider yourself tagged...go forth and list!!

Look who's got the shutterbug now!? Be still my beating heart!!

Happy Friday-eve!!

images were captured at the beach this weekend.

I still had time to knit a bit. Cotty sock nbr. 2 is well on its way to completion!

The weather was fantastic!! I'll share more pics with you after my shutter/mouse/knitting finger recovers a wee bit!

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.
