Sunday in the Park...

Pixie Park, that is...and back by popular demand (n=1 works for me, this is a knitting blog, not science you know!!)

A short row heel

And a couple of toes make for a pair of

Monkey socks!!! And because I'm compelled...

Just one more little teeny weeny picot pic....

Pattern: Cookie A's Monkey sock pattern
Yarn: STR 'Pixie Park' medium weight
Needles: Addi Lace 2.5 mm
Mods: Picot edge, short row heel with a mini-flap, anatomical toes

Another SOS pair completed!! Woot!

Please give a shout out to Allison...Hi Allison!!! Allison is a new knitter who is doing a fabulous job with her first scarf!! Thanks for visiting Allison! See you in September!

Hi Rani...your picot edge is lovely!!! I think you've got it!! :) Yes, pick up the stitches from the cast on edge, fold the edges together (private sides facing inward, public sides outward) and knit the live stitches together with the picked up stitches.

What is this pinky goodness? (note the absence of the Starbursts...ahem)

Do you recognize the stitch pattern? Yes, the yarn is really that bright!!

Meow and a little woof

I saw this over at Words and Wool

You Are: 30% Dog, 70% Cat

You and cats have a lot in common.

You're both smart and in charge - with a good amount of attitude.

However, you do have a very playful side that occasionally comes out!

Fresh rockin' hair (no that is not Cousin It under those locks!)

With my trusty STR in my stash....I am in need of absolutely nothing. Nothing.

Happy Knitting!!

Play date!

So, what happens when the fiber goddess and the neuroknitter get together on a Tuesday evening? Play time!!! Well, at least one of us plays....The other one captures it on a memory card for eternity!!

Some of us knit toe up....

and some, cuff down....

Some of us dig the picot action. Alot.

It's all good. Just knit!

Here is the Solstice sock enjoying the view from the deck upon arriving at Caldera!

Here is the front of the A-frame cabin I shared with another investigator...

and here is the view upon entry! I slept downstairs and had all that glorious morning light waking me up!!

Here is more of the view from the deck of the A-frame.

After a day of creative thinking exercises, we enjoyed a big...really big camp fire.

I hiked (long walk) around Blue Lake early Tuesday morning. It's gorgeous, yes?

Remember the Biscuit fire in Oregon in 2002? 500000 acres were burned! The site in which Caldera Art Center rests was in the thick of it, yet thankfully survived unscathed...you can see the burned trees in the picture above. You can read more about it here and see more pictures here.

It was a good retreat. Learned alot. Met some very inspiring people.
We also learned about the development of the new MS campaign Join the Movement.
Check out the video on their site.
Check out the Wall here.

Powerful stuff.
