They're back!!

I hit a glitch* with them, then went on to knit numerous other socks, a scarf, and a cowl...they sat patiently.

It's their time now. I'm back on track and am racing up the cuff to the finish line...of the first sock.

Guess what? Next week I'll be in Tacoma at the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat! Six more sleeps 'til I leave!! I need to start packing my travel knitting! Who else is going to Madrona?

First up: the well heeled: the heels have been turned on the second Tottering Cable and Lohengrin socks. I think the TC sock should be finished shortly, making it the first finished pair of 2010...maybe this weekend if I'm lucky!

Ramblings

Winter is just around the corner. The days are chilly and my socks are patiently waiting their turns to be worn. The last of the leaves are barely clinging to their branches, most of their siblings have long since dropped and are dancing around their matriarchs, catching the last bit of autumn sunlight. I saw that Anne in Ohio had some snow...I'm so envious!

You know what that means?

The first Hazelstasia sock is done...well, almost done. I want to try a picot edge from the toe-up vantage point and just need to fold and go!

We are having a glorious Saturday, here in the Pacific NW! There is a light frost on the grass and the sun is peeking out. I'm not sure what is in store for me...a little bit of work, some knitting...and maybe a matinee with Mr. NK! No matter how it turns out, it's going to be a great day!

The Chuckanut Drive (Hazel Knits) sock is well on its way to completion.

I took yesterday off from work and got to play a little bit with a dear friend.

In addition to some yummy caramel-brownie treats that serendiptiously showed up in her mail while I was there (yum, I'm still full from just one!), we were gifted with a beautiful sunny afternoon. So with our cameras in hand, we played.

The rains have returned this morning. Knitting weather. No complaints.

Captured Sunlight

We had a few minutes of sunlight last Friday.

I immediately grabbed my camera and decided it was time for a lunch break and a mini photoshoot.

The sun was in and out, but I caught it...by golly, yes I did!

The Anastasia socks are coming along. This is sock #2 of the Autumn socks and we are past the heel and starting the leg.

It was a drizzly weekend, the wee bit of sun on Friday was long gone the next day. We spent Saturday evening with friends and hung out Sunday watching a Torchwood marathon...that show is very addicting!

Anastasia

The first Anastasia sock knit from the Charlie Brown Fall yarn from Woolgirl is finished! I heart it! This colorway is amazing, and the Miss Babs sock yarn is outstanding.

Did y'all remember to do the "fall-back" thing? We used the extra hour to take a walk when the sun was peeking out for a wee bit. The leaves are falling rapidly now and the air is laced with that late autumn scent.

Inspired

I've been inspired by Tiennie's newest socks, the lovely Anastasia socks designed by Pepperknit. I decided to immediately cast on my special Woolgirl "It's a Charlie Brown Fall" yarn dyed by Miss Babs and knit up a pair for myelf.
