of chocolate and gems
The last finished project of 2008. Omega it was. The knitting year of 2008 has ended with a Monkey Sock in an STR Rare Gem. During the arctic blast of 2008 this color reminded me of fire and ice...of course, there was a lot of snow and ice around to inspire me. Anne mentioned chocolate and Tiffany's, and I thought the correlation was brilliant!
Thank you so much for coming by the neighborhood to check out what's happening and leaving comments when you can! I so appreciate all your kind words!
Happy New Year!

Counting down
Progress is being made on the Omega Monkeys of the year.
The first sock is finished, and I'm past the gusset decreases on the second sock. I have a couple of other projects on the needles that aren't for public consumption just yet, so the push is on to finish everything by the Janus hour...I just made that up...Oy.
Clearly, more coffee is needed and there's no time to spare.
Back to knitting. Happy Monday!
p.s. the linen stitch makes an interesting heel flap...what do you think?

The big reveal
“O, wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?”
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
Can you see me now?
Ahhh...that's much better!
I am so transparent...I need to work on that in 2009! Yes, you all guessed it!! Yay! The last, or perhaps penultimate (if Cockeyed's forecast is correct), pair of socks of 2008 are Monkey socks.
However, just to mix it up a bit, I'm trying a linen stitch heel flap that I surfed across here.

Kickin' back
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree”
Emily Brontë
It was a bee-u-tiful weekend here in the Pacific Northwest.
The mornings were brisk, the days clear and lovely, and the evening sun was as golden as the freshly fallen leaves.
The shadows are getting longer, and the sun is sinking from view earlier and earlier.
It's time to pull on these socks and settle in for the chillier days ahead.
Happy Monday!
