playing with food

"Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie."
~Jim Davis, 'Garfield'

It was farmer's market day at work. Fresh veggies galore!

After the drizzle this morning, we had a beautiful evening...perfect for the official FO photoshoot of the RSC July 'In Season' socks.

Check out the Hatch Chilis that a friend brought back for me from a recent trip to Texas. They're in season now, too!!

You can read more about the mods to these socks here and here. They're a quick and satisying knit. I love, love, love the yarn and really just couldn't resist show casing it with these luscious veggies one last time!

It wouldn't be a farmer's market post without the obligatory egg shot, would it?

August harvest

The Farmers Market was bursting at the seams this weekend with all kinds of goodness!

The wild plums were exceptionally colorful!

And the socks...they're the 'In Season' pattern for July from RSC 2009.

I've made a few modifications to the pattern. Most notable are the picot cuff and the substitution of the Mad Color Weave slip stitch panel for the one in the original pattern.

Picot cuffs are always 'In Season' at Chez NK!

Happy Monday!

morning shoot

Bleary eyed....

Before work...

Before coffee, but after the cats are fed (there're some individuals that can't be ignored!),

there's the shutter release.

Happy Tuesday!

everything's coming up roses

Rogue Roses that is!

The seed stitch heel has been flapped, turned, and the gusset completed.

Aren't those rosebuds the sweetest things you've ever seen.

We had a wonderful weekend. Lots of sun, knitting, a wee bit of gardening (some frogs were spotted...yay!), and I swear to goodness I took a thousand pictures...well, maybe just 800!

Happy Tuesday!!
