Playing with food

When you were growing up, do you remember how your mom admonished you for playing with your food at the dinner table?

I don't think I'm grown up yet. At least by the "playing with food" standard!

I joke that my family wouldn't recognize me if I didn't have my knitting

(or camera) in my hands. Even at the fanciest of eating establishments.

I'm not shy.

Even with all the shooting going on, I still got the heel turned and the gusset markers placed over a quick meal out on the town (i.e. favorite cafe, and yes...something more substantial preceeded the sweet stuff...I readily learned the lesson about having dessert only after finishing everything on my dinner plate)!

AI: I'm still gaga over Adam, and he did not dissappoint last night. I think Simon is sabotaging Allison with his negative remarks about things other than her singing. I don't care if she may not exude the same level of confidence as the more seasoned crooners...she's only just turned 17. I like her, and I thought she sounded wonderful last night and I bet she goes home (Boo) because of Simon's negativity. I hope not. Fingers are crossed it'll be Matt.

Oh look! We're done, done, done!!

Time to dash! Have a fabulous and sweet Wednesday!

morning shoot

Bleary eyed....

Before work...

Before coffee, but after the cats are fed (there're some individuals that can't be ignored!),

there's the shutter release.

Happy Tuesday!

Petal's Edge

I had a most delightful day today! I hooked up with my friend Jen at the neighborhood Panera Bread spot (Yes!! They're in Oregon now! Yay!). Coffee, knitting and non-stop chatter, not to mention some yummy baked goods, were the order of the day.

I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

Reflections

Isn't the way the sunlight* reflects and bounces around the yarn** and glassware intriguing? Love it!

AI speak: Allison and Adam are still safe...barely for Allison. It's going to get tougher for her as I think Kris is gaining ground. Back to Adam...was he not fantastic this week...who knew disco could be so heart wrenching. Heart him. Alot!! (Mr. NK is counting the days until AI is over...LOL)!!

Happy Friday-eve!!

*Never fear, we're back to our typical mostly sunless weather. Boo.

Earth Day: 2009

We are so blessed to live in a place that is so rich in color and texture,

flora,

and fauna.

From the simple strawberry blossom

to this most interesting spider hiding among the lichen.

Beauty can be found along the roadside

as well as in woodlands.

"Green" is the word of the day. Green should be the word everyday...for life.

Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as well as the earth.

everything's coming up roses

Rogue Roses that is!

The seed stitch heel has been flapped, turned, and the gusset completed.

Aren't those rosebuds the sweetest things you've ever seen.

We had a wonderful weekend. Lots of sun, knitting, a wee bit of gardening (some frogs were spotted...yay!), and I swear to goodness I took a thousand pictures...well, maybe just 800!

Happy Tuesday!!

Playtime

in the garden

at the cafe...

Hmmm...do you think I spend too much time at the cafe? Since the last time I was there with these socks, I've finished the second sock. I still have a little bit of embellishing to complete before the socks are done...as in stick a fork in them done! Hmmm...sounds like another trip to the cafe!

I had this pear tart on Saturday while there with Mr. NK, my sister, and Sammy and Karl while celebrating Sammy's birthday!

I just can't get away from photographing these socks with coffee and food.

Tonight we said good-bye to...no one! I don't think I would've used the 'save' at this time. It also means only two judges will comment for each contestant next week, which I wasn't too fond of this week.

On a different 'note'...if you want your heart warmed, be one of over 9 million people to go to youtube and watch the video of Susan Boyle's audition for Britain's Got Talent. Don't forget your tissues.

Happy Friday-eve!
