spring fever

I can't wait for spring any longer...so I'm going to bring it to me.

In the way of spring colors...

Hazel Knits 'Gerber' is a good start.

The pattern is Ms. Wick by Liz Abinante. It's part of the 'Bones' family of patterns.
I've already knit Saroyan, and the Traveling Woman is on my short list.

Can you believe tomorrow is February 1st?? I can't!

Happy Monday!
I hope your week is off to a good start!

winter light

The thing about this time of year is that one evening it can be cool and bleak...

...and the next is bright and golden.

I, for one, have a fulminant case of spring fever. I can't wait for the longer days to arrive and the 'bleaks' to go away!

The Dapple socks are finished. I so heart this yarn, and am really pleased with how the socks turned out.

I for one am happy it's Friday-eve...what about you!?! One more day until the weekend! Yay!

can learn from the unrestrained beauty around them.

monday, monday

Good Morning! Did you have a good weekend?! I hope so!

Ours was low key, but plenty of knitting was accomplished...even a little photography and cooking...curried red lentil soup with sweet potatoes...yum! :)

I remodeled the blog a little, too...it's always scary to make big changes, but it needed a little touch up I think. I'm also testing out loading larger images.

Back to knitting...the heel flap is finished on the first 'Angel' sock...I decided to carry the stitch pattern down the center of the flap.

That's all I've got for you this Monday.

I hope your week is off to a bright start!

Secret knitting is finished...so there's no better time to quickly cast on something new.

so far so good.

wishes

If only wishing could make it true??? I know, I know...be careful what you wish for, especially for an eternity of Junes here in the Pacific NW! LOL!

I wholeheartedly wish for a weekend filled with all the time you desire to do as you wish!
Have a good 'un!! xo

light past

Sometimes our fate
resembles a fruit tree in winter.
Who would think that those branches
would turn green again and blossom,
but we hope it,
we know it.
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The Dapple socks are slowly coming along...it's secret knitting time, so everything else gets the back burner for a wee while, including these lovelies.

The green is so fresh and lively...a perfect curative for the gray, gray, gray days we've been having.

eternal spring

Long enough to be gently folded...

long enough.

sunkissed

Wow! The first post of 2011 is an FO!! That's going to be a hard pace to keep up!!

The South Fork socks are cushy and toasty warm!! Just in time for the frigid temps we've been having...relatively speaking that is (with a nod to my Minnesota friends)!!

We had a quiet weekend at home. We typically don't do much for New Year's, and can barely stay awake to ring it in...this year was no exception! Knitting, movies, good food and asleep long before midnight!! Sigh.

I hope your celebrations this weekend were good!!

Monday has come around much faster than I was hoping it would. I could still use another few days of vacation...but it's always that way isn't it? Sigh.

I'm looking forward to 2011 and all the potential it holds for making hopes and dreams come to pass!!

is the key to unlocking our potential
