Friday's Flowers: Lily of Peru

Alstroemeria

Yellow. The color of friendship. It's so fitting that these flowers were given to me by a friend many, many years ago. They have since taken over one flower bed and have volunteered in another just this season. They have even harbored stray kitties over the years!

This is their season...they are in full bloom right now and are dominating the front yard with their beautiful deep yellow petals and crimson stripes. Alstroemeria are truly the harbingers of summer!

Happy Friday! Stay cool...over 90F predicted in PDX today!

So pretty!! I have to laugh though. I'm here at my Great-Aunt's house and while taking yarn pics in the backyard I thought of you and took a flower photo. Not very many flowers in the hot Reno weather, but of course, its a yellow one. The pics just don't compare to yours!! I'll still post anyways :)
