Into white

Since Portlanders do heat as well as they do snow, I thought I'd revisit the snow days.

I thought it might cool me down.

Record breaking heat. Into the triple digits.
I long for our walk Christmas afternoon when I was triple layered! Sigh.
If you're in need of a break from the heat...I hope these few images cool you off, if even a little.
They do me.

The Snow that never drifts~
The transient, fragrant snow
That comes a single time a Year
Is softly driving now~

So thorough in the Tree
At night beneath the star
That it was February's Foot
Experience would swear~

Like Winter as a Face
We stern and former knew
Repaired of all but Loneliness
By Nature's Alibit~

Were every storm so spice
The Value could not be~
We buy with contrast~Pang is good
As near as memory

Ahh, to be back in winter. We're never just content with our weather. ;) I would handle the snow so much better, I think.

Thanks for the cool thoughts & images! We're about 5 degrees cooler than you are right now, and dealing just about as well with the heat. No relief in sight until at least Monday!

I just got home from a vacation in Portland. It was hot, which completely took me by surprise. Plus we stayed at McMenamins Edgefield for 2 nights -- no air-conditioning. Never again!!!

Did you take those pictures, too? They are so pretty. And cold. We've been hearing about your weather in Minnesota because we've been having YOUR weather! We've swapped. It's cool here. We usually sit around sweaty and humid all summer long.

You poor thing! Portland has had more than its fair share of extreme weather this year. I've been checking the forecast for SS. Looks like it will still be warm, but much more comfortable.

Looking forward to seeing you at SS!

That snow looks just about perfect right now!! (hey, with no Snowboarder for 4 weeks, that snow would definitely bring him home too!)

Hope it cools down a bit before SSO9!! Just can't wait to be there!!!

happy just about friday!
