blooms

We had a busy weekend here at Chez NK!

The needles were flying...

the camera battery had to be recharged like 3 times!

And look...

We planted poppies...I couldn't resist the bright orange, yellow and pink petals, they just had to come home with us!

And those bulbs...ranunculus and freesia, ala inspiration from Susan!! I've never planted bulbs before, so my fingers are crossed that they will aim upward and not go underground!

And the sun...I think I suffered some heat stroke while taking these shots!

One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides.

Oh the anticipation. That is is. Today, I think I checked on my seeds about 10 times. Pacing, I am. My salad greens have started sprouting and I felt like calling someone and telling them. But who? "Yeah? Your salad greens are what?"

"SPROUTING, I TELL YOU! IN APRIL!"

"uh-huh. how much coffee have you had today?"

The colors of the poppies are amazing. I bought seed but found out I'll have to wait for autumn to plant them here.
Well - good things come to those who wait. . . anticipation, right?

The photos are awesome - thanks. The bulbs will likely figure out how to grow but watch out for furry creature thieves. I have no more crocus or tulip bulbs - the chipmunks and squirrels get them every time we plant.
