Friday Harbor.
Cat Bordhi.
Blue Moon Fiber Arts.
The yarn, the color, the pattern...perfection.
You know what this time of year brings?
Cherry Kisses! Loved by one and
all...including sweet Gibson!
On a knitterly knote, the heel on the second Red Bark Monkey has been turned!
One Red Bark Monkey sock has been completed! Niiiiice.
I wish you all a very happy and safe holiday! I hope all your wishes for the season come to pass!!
Knit on!
Nothing like a steaming latte, some natural light, and a fully charged camera battery to make my Friday a happy one!
Specs:
Pattern: Teosinte by Anne Hanson at Knit Spot
Yarn: Dream in Color Smooshy "November Muse" (Thank you Dave! I love this color, too!)
Needles: Addi Lace 2.5 mm
Mods: None. This yarn was more fingering weight than I expected at first. I was at 8.5 st/inch with 2.5 mm needles, I might consider going up to 2.75 mm if it didn't make the fabric too loose. I blocked these socks; they fit snuggly, but fine.
Happy Solstice!!!
Was that a howl I heard??? :)
Specs:
Pattern: Koolhaas Hat by Jared Flood in IK Holiday Gifts 2007
Yarn: Dream in Color Classy in "Nightwatch"
Needles: 7 for the rib, Addi Lace 8 for the patternwork
Mods: None. I would consider adding a pattern repeat for a less snug fit. Loved the yarn. The pattern was a breeze to memorize and the Addi lace needles made it very easy to execute all the crosses and Ktbl maneuvers!
A Valentine's concert. 1992. Before Pete and I were wed; he brought me roses.
We saw Dan Fogelberg. I knew every song by heart.
Dan Fogelberg passed away on December 16 from advanced prostate cancer. He was 56 years old. He was diagnosed in 2004. I have listened and been touched by his music for over 30 years. Before Pete. Before knitting. He is now singing with the angels. Our hearts are heavy as we extend our condolences and prayers to his family. He will be deeply missed.
If you are a man and you haven't been checked, get checked. If you are a woman, get the men in your life examined. Now.
Follow this link for more information on prostate cancer. Do it NOW!
Don't let the roses outlive the man.
The weekend was filled with a bit of work and a bit of knitting...
More knitting than work, so all is good! One sock is finished, and the second sock has been cast on with great progress made up the foot already!
I need to complete two more socks after this pair to equal last year's tally of 42 socks. Why do I set these goals for myself...ack. Of course, I will then try to beat myself and knit at least one more sock than I knit last year!
The rains have returned. Although, not before Max got some sun time in.
Have a great Monday!
Candlelight
Knitting with a warm kitty on your lap
Being almost ready to decrease on the Koolhaas hat
And a little Elvis.
What's a girl to do when all of her favorite TV programs are in reruns and all she has at her disposal for entertainment is a camera and an FO ? Yep! Go a little bonkers!! Do you know how hard it is to stand on a foot stool, wrap your legs in lights, plug in the cord AND take a picture of your own feet!? LOL!!

It was a busy evening. I turned the heel on my Teosinte sock.
I also cast on for one of these...a Koolhaas. I'm using Dream in Color Classy in the 'Nightwatch' color.
The Teosinte socks are nearly complete! I have to cast-off (probably the EZ sewn cast-off) and we will have new socks!
I appear to be addicted to silver infused yarn from Painted Skeins. Did I mention this yarn also has 20% silk in it? I heart this yarn!!
What's better than a wee bit of pure silver infused into your yarn? Correct...nothing is better. I lost my breath when I opened up the box containing this gorgeous yarn from Painted Skeins! Helen is très fabulous and this yarn literally knocked my socks off...and as you know...that isn't an easy task, I have alot of socks!!!
The second Teosinte sock is well on it's way to being finished! The heel will be turned by the time you read this in the morning!
It was a rainy Monday.
It rained pretty much
all day
long.
I'm glad I had on my personal protective equipment..."Monsoon" rated socks!
New socks...
my well-loved and well-worn Lace Leaf scarf...
and a steaming cup of cocoa...I'm ready for the cold and blustery days ahead.
