Although I have quite a few skeins of this yarn, I've not knit with it before. My knitting goals for the year included exploring and using different yarns. I think I've done pretty well on that front.

This yarn is from Woolen Rabbit, in the color 'Beach Sand'.

And check out the new pattern from Anne! I can't wait for this beauty to be released to the public!!

Oh how I heart this HK yarn...this color, which I've dubbed PSL is gorgeous;

I love watching the bits of color pop out from the background of autumnal reds.

oh look! What else has popped onto the needles? More about that later!

Ahhh....what goes better with autumn than a new skein of fluffy, soft, fibery goodness?

A new project with the aforementioned yarny goodness!

The yarn is Madelinetosh 'Tosh Merino' in Parchment.

The project is a cowl using the Tesserae stitch pattern.

Result: Lov.ing.It.

socktoberfest

It's October. You know what that means!

Socktoberfest!

Truth be known, it's Socktoberfest at Chez NK 24/7/365, if you know what I mean!

It's also the beginning of the New Moon KAL over at Sunshine Yarns!

Some of you have been asking about what I do with all the socks I knit. I wear alot of them, and as I retire an old favorite pair I bring a new one into the line-up. Sometimes, they are just too pretty to wear for everyday and I save them for special occasions. I used to gift a lot of socks to my friend Linda. Then I taught her to knit. Now I gift her sock yarn!

I love knitting socks, they're portable and quick, and oh so gratifying! I can test-drive different fibers and colors and patterns (sometimes the same pattern over and over!). Sock knitting provides an awful lot of entertainment in such a small package!
