You know what that ball means, right!?
Yep...the Shur'tugal socks have hit the blocking bowl.
They aren't the only ones that have traveled a winding road to get to their goal.

Some people paint with light.
Some people paint with brushes.
And sometimes, some people paint with petals.
Is there a better way to start the morning?
I think not. And given the rain (read as frackin' torrential downpours) we've been having...
...well, these socks may be the only sunshine I see today! Nevermind that my office has no windows. Sigh.
AI speak: I am so in love with Adam I could just squeek! My goodness...Adam + Led Zepplin = true love forever. Poor Mr. NK...he is literally counting the seconds until this competition is over. And the duet with Allison...holy moly...I truly hope they record a duet for public consumption. I hope you all voted...I did...and I know IGK did! I heart her!!!
Happy Wednesday!!
Shur'tugal socks in STR Citrine; mug a love gift from Mr. NK! Heart him, too!
Not of the ice cream (or gelato) kind...but the photo kind...my first diptych. I've been so inspired by Nora (peruse her March/April 2008 archives), and finally decided to take the plunge and play around and see if I could make a go of it. I think I have a few more in me...so we'll see what comes of it.
It has been rainy-awful here today! But the weekend was wonderful! I spent Saturday afternoon with Sammy and Karl...photogoodies from that playdate will be appearing here very soon!
Spindle by Bosworth; "distaff" by mother nature!

The blue and bright-eyed floweret of the brook, Hope's gentle gem, the sweet Forget-me-not.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge
God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out, "Forget-me-not, O Lord!" God replied, "That shall be your name."
It's the first Friday in May. A month that celebrates the flowers encouraged by April's showers.
What better day to resume Friday's Flowers posts!
I came across these darling little Forget-me-nots and thought what a perfect flower to start the season!
Happy Friday!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
When you were growing up, do you remember how your mom admonished you for playing with your food at the dinner table?
I don't think I'm grown up yet. At least by the "playing with food" standard!
I joke that my family wouldn't recognize me if I didn't have my knitting
(or camera) in my hands. Even at the fanciest of eating establishments.
I'm not shy.
Even with all the shooting going on, I still got the heel turned and the gusset markers placed over a quick meal out on the town (i.e. favorite cafe, and yes...something more substantial preceeded the sweet stuff...I readily learned the lesson about having dessert only after finishing everything on my dinner plate)!
AI: I'm still gaga over Adam, and he did not dissappoint last night. I think Simon is sabotaging Allison with his negative remarks about things other than her singing. I don't care if she may not exude the same level of confidence as the more seasoned crooners...she's only just turned 17. I like her, and I thought she sounded wonderful last night and I bet she goes home (Boo) because of Simon's negativity. I hope not. Fingers are crossed it'll be Matt.
Oh look! We're done, done, done!!
Time to dash! Have a fabulous and sweet Wednesday!

Bleary eyed....
Before work...
Before coffee, but after the cats are fed (there're some individuals that can't be ignored!),
there's the shutter release.
Happy Tuesday!
Featuring Shur'tugal and Rogue Roses socks in progress.
I had a most delightful day today! I hooked up with my friend Jen at the neighborhood Panera Bread spot (Yes!! They're in Oregon now! Yay!). Coffee, knitting and non-stop chatter, not to mention some yummy baked goods, were the order of the day.
I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

Flora: Viola 'Etain' and 'Rebecca'
Yarn: STR 'Easter Scramble' medium weight
Isn't the way the sunlight* reflects and bounces around the yarn** and glassware intriguing? Love it!
AI speak: Allison and Adam are still safe...barely for Allison. It's going to get tougher for her as I think Kris is gaining ground. Back to Adam...was he not fantastic this week...who knew disco could be so heart wrenching. Heart him. Alot!! (Mr. NK is counting the days until AI is over...LOL)!!
Happy Friday-eve!!
*Never fear, we're back to our typical mostly sunless weather. Boo.

We are so blessed to live in a place that is so rich in color and texture,
flora,
and fauna.
From the simple strawberry blossom
to this most interesting spider hiding among the lichen.
Beauty can be found along the roadside
as well as in woodlands.
"Green" is the word of the day. Green should be the word everyday...for life.
Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as well as the earth.
