coffee time

Some progress on this sock has been made since it last aired.
Leg - done.
Heel flap - done.

Not too bad considering I have four other socks on the needles and am working on a test knit project that needs to be finished by the end of the week.

No worries. I've got it covered - it's called intravenous coffee.

secrets

I'm afraid there hasn't been significant progress since you last saw these socks...
I've been secret knitting...

In other news, we're building raised beds for the garden...
Hopefully veggies and a photoflower garden will be in our future!!
Fingers are crossed...at least until I pick up the needles again :)

tea time

If you are cold, tea will warm you;
if you are too heated, it will cool you;
if you are depressed, it will cheer you;
if you are excited it will calm you.

Something new and pink to send us off into the weekend.

Lunch with a friend, basketball and knitting,
and lots of tea will fill my weekend.

What about you? What's on your agenda?

Wishing you a cheery weekend! xo

get a little derailed and need

how do you get back on track?

variety

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!
I started the Heathcliff-half of the Catherine and Heathcliff

Just like there is only one Mr. Darcy, there is only one Heathcliff.
Love. Him them.

In other news...Mr. NK and I spent most of the weekend photographing
at and around Waterfront Park.
We were testing a rental camera and taking pictures of
everything and everyone that moved in front of us!

Although lunch didn't move...we took pictures of it, too! :)

And you? Any fun happenings for you this past weekend?

treasure

I haven't made much progress on my Regan sock...just finishing the heel since
its last post.

But I did take advantage of some sunshine this week
to take it out for some glamour shots!
I love the 'opposites attract' yarn from BDY...the complementary skeins are
lovely and the second sock really isn't a "second" sock if it's a different color - i.e. no SSS!

Are you doing anything fun for the weekend?!
My mother in law is visiting and I think we're going to hang out
at the waterfront...hopefully the weather will behave!

Whatever you do, I hope you have fun!

belonging

I'm still recovering from losing an hour of sleep...how about you?

I love linen stitch heels...I now have two of them!
These socks are almost finished...

...and...

...I need something new to sink my teeth into.
Any suggestions as to which sock pattern I should knit next?

this hour

A new sock to greet a new season...well...
the weather on Friday was very spring-like and it seemed like a new season!

Just a prank though. The weekend brought gray and chilly temps...again.

Back to the socks...Cotty by Irishgirlieknits in STR 'vintage'.
Every now and then someone asks me how I do my picot cuff,
a very long time ago I made a little pictorial, here's the linkety if you're interested.

I spent an hour or so at my new favorite cafe photographing my sock with coordinating macarons
while waiting for an appointment...Mr. Whitman's words were running through my head.

not for another hour, but this hour.

blocking day

Never regret a day in your life:
good days give happiness, bad days give experience,
worst days give lessons,
and best days give memories.
~ Autor Desconhecido

And we're blocking...
I knit the pattern per usual except for the heel.
I replaced it with a linen stitch heel
like the one found here.

gotta run now...I want to make today a memory day!
I hope you do, too!

anticipation

The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting.
~ Andy Warhol

I'm a little behind in my picture taking...I'm glad I had this image biding its time
for a rainy day (literally and figuratively!).

So...what are you anticipating for the upcoming weekend?
Me?
A break from the rain (mixed feelings on that), brunch with family and friends, starting a new knitting project (probably a sock...but we'll see...don't get too excited about a non-sock project...this sock knitting thing has been going on for a very long time despite my best efforts to divert myself!!), lunch with a friend here, and maybe a day trip to the coast.

Let us know what you're thinking about doing over the weekend
so we can join you in anticipating all the fun you'll have!
Happy Friday-eve!

today

I spent some time walking around the waterfront last Friday afternoon.
I hit a coffee spot and then walked the esplanade around the river.
I was refreshed and ready for the long weekend!

I love the water...I think I must've been a fish in another life.

Look what greeted me Friday morning!
The first crocus of the year!

I look forward to the first crocus Every. Single. Year.
It's always a miracle to witness the presence of such a complex blossom
after observing nothing in its place the day before!

Check out the new comment section! I upgraded to a third party format.
I think it will be more fun for everyone to comment and reply to each other as they desire...
...and it will certainly be more fun for me to be able to reply to comments from people I don't have email addresses for!

Soooo....who's going to be the first one to post a comment?!
The race is on!

hearts

We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed.
As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over;
so in a series of kindnesses
there is at last one which makes the heart run over.

invincible

We were hit by a big...huge...snow storm this past weekend.

I occupied myself with knitting, photography, more knitting, organizing my inks (ROYGBIV and neutrals) and walking in the snow - followed by thawing out fingers (and toes) to resume knitting.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who takes walks in the snow with knitting in one hand
and camera in the other so I can photograph socks in the wild!!
It's how I roll!!

There may also have been a little bit of binge watching of Justified...

...and a little surfing around facebook and youtube.

Just a wee bit.

I hope you all had a great weekend! xo

We are so obsessed with doing that we have no time and no imagination left for being.
