Fancy toes!

SOS pair #2...Complete!
Specs:
Pattern: Solstice Slip from the STR Sock club
Yarn: S-x in the City TV yarn from Woolgirl
Needles: Addi Lace 3.25 mm
Mods: Picot cuff, short row heel with a mini flap, contrasting yarn for the anatomical toe.

Stella asked about the mini flap/gusset: I knit back and forth in stockinette for 10-12 rows, slipping the first stitch of each row. I then work the short row heel, pick up 5-6 stitches along each side of the flap and decrease per usual for a gusset. This gives me a smidge more ease across my instep for some of these patterns that seem to suck in alot!

And Cynthia, I have a pattern that I purchased ages ago for Birkensock socks by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts. I bought it from Norsk Fjord Fiber. Perhaps you can track it down from them.

Rani, please don't give up on the picot action!!

Happy knitting!!

I DID IT!! I DID IT!! My picot edge does not look NEARLY as neat and tidy and perfect as yours, but I did it! Thank you so much! I posted a pic, but did not have time to link it to yours. I'll do that this afternoon. Must give credit where credit is due!

I LOVE the red/pink socks. You are a very quick knitter!

Thanks Gail! I have a pretty high instep myself, so that might come in very handy.
