Hearts

Look at Mr. NK! Doesn't he look happy! He is a CASA.

A Court Appointed Special Advocate...for kids at risk.

To be a CASA you have to go through quite a few weeks of training and observing court cases.

It culminates in a swearing in by a judge (note the signature!!) and a graduation party.

CASAs are very special men and women, and I'm so proud of Mr. NK!!

We celebrated with special treats (I didn't bake these).

The kids helped us!

One more than the other!

I squeezed in a little knitting since last I wrote, too...

How cool!! We just had a CASA representative come and talk to the womens group I lead last month. It was so cool to hear about all the stuff that goes on.

Congratulations to Mr. NK :) I happen to work for a Juvenile Court Judge who handles the custody cases and I know just how important the CASA's role is. Thank you Mr. NK for volunteering to do what can be a heartbreaking yet heartwarming task, all rolled into one.

I am VERY proud of you Petey (aka Mr. NK). You and Gailie can dress up and come to the CASA auction with us next January where you can celebrate your CASA wins and share stories.
