SS09: People

"...ixnay on the irstfay". oops.

The introductions by Tina and Stephanie of the luminary panel members not only moved the audience to tears, but the panelists themselves. How sweet is that?

Look at this? All these women in one spot. On one panel. Dear lord.

Isn't Anna priceless? I wish I could've just sat with her and taken pictures of her all day long.

There's Susan. She's a celeb magnet!

Hi Susan!! It was awesome co-escorting with you!!

Getting warmed up for the Guinness record breaking attempt (935 knitters knitting on straight needles for 15 minutes) are Blue Moon's own Rosie and Anneli!

Yay!! We dood it!!

Priscilla Gibson-Roberts. I heart her. I could listen to her all. day. long. She is an amazing woman who has surmounted much adversity in her personal life, and just keeps on going. She came out of retirement just because Tina invited her to SS09. Just because.

When I started knitting socks back in the early 90s you couldn't open up a magazine without seeing an article or pattern by PG-R. She wore many hats as a spinner, designer, teacher, author, and editor just to name a few. I will forever be grateful to my friend Jane for turning me on to PG-R's Birkensock pattern which used short row heels and an anatomical toe in contructing a wonderfully comfortable and well fitting sock! Her construction aesthetic has forever influenced what I deem to be a well fitting sock.

Priscilla Gibson-Roberts was the biggest draw for me. After all these years, to finally be able to sit at her feet and listen to her stories, to see and touch her collection of socks and view her slides of some very, VERY old socks was moving beyond belief.

Look who it is? Cristi of Turtlegirl's bloggy thing. I hadn't met her face to face yet...I was ecstatic and delighted to really meet her later at the sock hop...speaking of which...

Look at Kim go!! Tammy, you're talented with all kinds of needles!

Agreed. Rachel was born to sock hop.

I'm not sure who this is, but I thought it was a tres cool shot!

Cristi is awesome, and I'm so tickled to have finally met her!

Christy and Carrie! Heart you!! Miss you!!

I'm not sure what they're talking about, but look how expressive their hands are.

There was cake in honor of EZ's 99th birthday on the last day of SS09.

There were so many people that I finally got to meet that aren't pictured here. I was thrilled to be able to spend so much time with Cupcakefaerie over the weekend! She is such a sweetheart! I heart her! I got to meet Anne Hanson!! I was giddy for weeks knowing we were finally going to get to hook up! Oh yay oh yay! She is as incredible in person as she is in blogland and email. I heart her, too!

It was an indescribable treat to be able to spend so much quality time with my friends Iris, Jen, and Julie, and see the lovely success that is Emily and Shannon as they womanned their store Twisted at the marketplace, and to finally meet the lovely Hazel!

Thank you for getting this far with the peep shots! Next up: Stash enhancement. Stay tuned.

I was scrolling down my list of bookmarked sites and didn't mean to click on you because I'm in work mode and was meant to be looking up something worthy but a bit po-faced, and then my finger just 'slipped' and I hit your button and the excitement is leaping off the screen!! Wonderful!
(Now that's enough fun - back to work....)
