select a theme: Transitions

The assignment this week was to select a theme, e.g. serenity, peace, quietude, and then take a walk and use nature as your palette to express that theme.

I had a bunch of words in mind...but 'transitions' seemed to inspire me.

The rich transition of color as the sun is just thinking about rising.

The change in light within just a few minutes from the rich indigo and orange to a frosty light.

We're at that exhilarating window of time between autumn and winter. The evenings are still rich in color bathed in warm light at sunset...

but the mornings are frigid and the leaves starched with the first frost.

From moonrise to moonset, there are so many transitions of light, color, and vitality, these are but a few.

Nothing is secure but life, transition, the energizing spirit.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

p.s. make sure to visit the other participant's projects, too!

My goodness you live in a gorgeous place.
You have captured some incredible images. Transition seems to on our minds these days... I see so much in your gorgeous images, simplicity, peace, yet rich in detail. I really appreciate the siloutte with the multitude of colors in the sky...and yes,the horse grazing peeking over the hill.
Just stunning.
