a time to gather

We headed out for the last photowalk of the summer the other night.

I was really hoping to capture some leaf images, and was actually a wee disappointed that so few leaves were to be found, however...

the ladybugs were everywhere!

Oh! Joy!

I hadn't seen any in so long and had thought they were gone.

We also saw a grasshopper...I didn't detain him too long as I know time is short and he needs to finish preparing for winter.

I even saw another one of these little green beetles.

It's like everyone came out to party that last night of summer.

This weekend is the last fiber festival of the year in my neck of the woods. Oregon Flock and Fiber is my favorite fiber festival--it's autumn, the drive out is short and nice, it's autumn, there're farms to visit along the way (I have a hankering for finding some pumpkins), and most importantly I'll get see and catch up with a lot of my fiber friends! Did you notice, shopping and fiber weren't even on the list!?

What are you up to this weekend? I hope you have a grand time! xo

For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.
For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.

Gorgeous pictures as always! This weekend is going to be pretty normal for me, but that's fine, I like normal ;-) Happy weekend!

I'm only shopping for buttons, and that farm market that's on the way. I love that place, they have apple cider donuts!

I love ladybugs and I have only seen a few this year. Tonight, my son looked up in the kitchen and spotted a baby stick bug. Very cool.

Love the ladybugs! And the grasshopper, too.

Maybe I'll see you at OFFF?

The green critter is a stink bug Gail. Sorry I haven't been here recently, life has thrown up a few major challenges. This is a precious post-- you and bugs do truly great things together. The bottom tex-- incredible.
