tint of autumn

The berry season is at an end. We took a walk last night and it was very difficult to find berries that were ripe and sweet. Sigh.

I found some fallen acorns.

The last days of summer

are clearly tinted

with autumn.

There are two ways of meeting difficulties:
you alter the difficulties, or you alter yourself to meet them.

I really like today's quotation, and it comes at a really appropriate time for me. Thanks for the thought!

What a beautiful post! I love the blackberry/acorn hat combo. It all feels so bittersweet. Especially when I realize that I used to pick blackberries with my children and make jam, and they're so far past that now...

Thanks for the reminder to head to Old Town with my camera to capture the acorns! I noticed them last week and had made note to go take some pics, but I haven't yet! I don't know if it is because they are such slow growers, but you pretty much only see Oaks in that part of town, sadly.

Looks like ours are never going to ripen. It's very fall-like here. I sure do like that STR colorway!

Those tiny little acorns always make me think of fairies and gnomes, elves and such. Even now - when I'm all "growed up".

We have a few raspberries plants that are having their swan song before the first frost. Just enough for the kids breakfast or for a tiny afternoon treat.

what can I say? first there's purple humor, then just plain (gorgeous) beauty followed by profundity.
