Third time's a charm. I cast on for these socks a little while ago, but wasn't pleased with the striping and how the colors stacked. Rip. I cast on again with a different yarn...lovely yarn, but still not what I was envisioning for this sock.

And much like Goldilocks...I dug deeper into the stash and when I saw this yarn, I knew it was just right.

Does anything shout "May" louder than tulips in bloom!?

I think not. The weather has definitely taken a turn. We walked last evening with camera in tow...look at that sunlight on those little purple flowers...Glorious, indeedy!

This morning I went out and caught this little dogwood blossom.

And second only to the tulips, these pink blossoms are screaming May!!

Oh my. It's been a week. Friday couldn't come soon enough for me.

And look...a little ball of yarn...you know what that means!



Yep...an FO is on the loose. The Breaking Hearts socks by Cristi.

I love these socks.

I did a plain toe (on purpose!!)

and a regular gusset (not as on purpose!)

And who doesn't just melt in front of that twisted cuff. Top to toe...I love these socks!!

I'm not going to jinx my weekend by declaring my plans or hopes...but I think I can safely wish you all a fantastic weekend!! xo

Something new popped onto the needles...I didn't mean for it to happen, really I didn't.

This color is the lovely 'Ladyslipper' in Woolen Rabbit Lucent.

The pattern is Rivercat by Brenda Patipa.

I think the pattern is working up beautifully in this lovely yarn. It's memorizable, too!

What do you have planned for the weekend? I'm taking a Photoshop class, and I'm thinking about going to the tulip festival if it isn't too rainy.

Clue #2 went up on the Solid Sock group Spring Blooms mystery sock KAL last Friday...so what's a knitter to do, but knit it up?!

A little cables...and lace!! Second only to picot edges!

I'm a little behind...but will hopefully finish clue #2 before the final clue goes up on Friday!!

uhoh...something new hopped onto the needles. After a little correspondence with Marcy I got turned onto her 'Spring Blooms' Mystery Sock KAL pattern over on the Solid Socks group on Ravelry.

There was a picot edge involved.

Resistance was futile.

Speaking of spring blooms...I went on my first official photowalk of the season this weekend.

As soon as I left the house the wind picked up, the sun went behind a cloud, it rained, the sun peeked out, and the cycle repeated numerous times.

My camera and I persevered despite the stares of onlookers!



Back to that sock...I'm using MadTosh sock in a lovely spring green colorway that was part of a Woolgirl kit awhile back. I love the color, and think it is perfect for a spring sock.

I for one, am so happy it's finally Friday. I'm always happy when Friday rolls around, but this week just seemed to drag on...and on...and...well, you get the picture.

I've got some knitting planned for the weekend. And if the sun peeks out again, perhaps some photography. The trillium are blooming and I know just the spot to go to capture them in pixels...if the sun cooperates.

And a big thank you to Betsy, who pointed out that the STR color that I'm using for the Breaking Hearts sock may actually be 'Storeytime' and perhaps not a rare gem...I think she could be right. I no longer have to duck and run for cover! Yay!
