prodigal of blue

August has definitely arrived.

The mornings are overcast with a coolness that firmly states autumn is around the corner.

But the afternoons have been warm and bright!

The Squid socks are coming along nicely! The yellow yarn really takes on the warm colors of the setting sun!

Are you having a good week?

It's Friday-eve...we're almost to the weekend!!

Nature rarer uses yellow
Than another hue;
Saves she all of that for sunsets,
Prodigal of blue,
Spending scarlet like a woman,
Yellow she affords
Only scantly and selectly,
Like a lover's words.

What a golden gem you found from Em. Beautiful and so soft those squid socks.

Lovely poem. I know you're an Autumn lady, but I will be fiercely holding onto summer time. I absolutely refuse to see the dried up daisies, the leaning sunflowers, the roadside weeds gone to seed, the swelling of the milkweed pod. NO NO NO. I waited too long through the winter for this heavenly, buzzing, dripping heat.

The earth simply must stand still.
