First W.H.Y. Socktoberfest Rocktober KAL

Posted by NeuroKnitter

Welcome to our first official photoshoot here at the W.H.Y. Socktoberfest Rocktober KAL!!

We are knitting socks from STR medium weight in the (drum roll, please) Rocktober colorway purchased at Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival in lovely Canby, OR! Rocktober...is that not too cool. I personally think there should be a thirteenth month added to the year...and yeh, you got it, name it Rocktober!! The colorway was begging to be knit up during Socktoberfest 2006...so we (Emily, Iris, Jen, Julie, Shannon and I) complied...resistance is futile in this part of blogland!!!

Check out the lovely picot edge that Iris did!! I love those picots!!!

Clockwise from the upper left: Iris (picot edge), Gail (leaf motif), Shannon (ribby, 2 on her magic loop), and Dear Wool Girl with one completed sock, toe up and a double moss cuff!!! You are the master WG!!! Sadly, Julie and Emily missed out on the photoshoot...but you can see Julie's sock (oblique openwork lace) here!

As autumn is my most favorite season, I am honored to post the first official W.H.Y. Socktoberfest 2006 Rocktober KAL! I have been counting the days for the return of the crisp air, dewy mornings, and fall leaves!! I raise my hot cocoa and whipped cream to you all and bid you a most happy autumn! May you always have a project you enjoy on your needles, be it a sock or not (we heart you M), and may you have the opportunity to knit and play with the most wonderful of friends as I have here!!

Knit on!!

Great post NK! Wow, you have such a way with words...I couldn't have said it better myself. Autumn is such a great time of year, and it's so great to be able to knit with great friends and talents such as everyone on this blog! Cheers!
